Team Biographies:

John M. Hanssler

Mr. Hanssler, whose 20-year career includes serving as the Controller, CFO of emerging growth companies in the Technology, Retail, Manufacturing, Financial Services and Business Process Outsourcing segments. John is best utilized when rapid assessments and corrective actions are required to quickly address critical issues that have arisen in the financial performance of a company.

Although the term “Financial Operations” carries internal connotations, Mr. Hanssler truly understands that the primary purpose of financial operations is the focus and commitment to creating value for stake holders through financial management. His results-oriented leadership style has helped both Fortune 500 and privately held companies understand and benefit from structured financial management, discipline and accountability.

Most recently John was a Consulting Partner in the Private Equity Practice at Tatum, LLC., where he provided financial support and hands-on management to several organizations with revenues ranging from $200 million to $1.5 billion. John’s focus was working with distressed companies and improving cash flow, forecasting, and internal financial operations. John forms strong bonds with the existing team, often joining the team on an interim basis, as he helps the company focus on the immediate and critical issues affecting Liquidity and/or Profitability.

Mr. Hanssler received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Pace University, majoring in Accounting. Understanding that senior financial professionals needed to become strategic thinkers, he returned to Pace University for his MBA in Strategic Management.

William J. Horton, Jr.

Mr. Horton has served companies in the professional services, heavy construction/contracting, agricultural, natural resources,financial services, and entertainment sectors in both seated CFO and consulting capacities. Bill’s forte is quicklydigesting the company’s business model, diagnosing problems, and taking/recommending swift corrective action. He has the unique ability to get into the details when necessary without ever losing sight or focus on the overriding strategic objectives. Bill also fully understands and thrives in the “dual” reporting environment present in most venture capital and private equity backed portfolio companies. Mr.Horton quickly assimilates himself into the operations of the company, becomes a valued member of the executive team, and drives value creation and profitability through establishment and maintenance of objective measurement criteria and accountability. Bill has extensive M&A experience on both the buy side and sell side and has participated in transactions and fund raising activities totaling in excess of $1B. Prior to joining Praxis, Bill was a CFO Partner with TatumLLC where he provided financial services to businesses ranging in revenue from$50MM to $4B. The projects were focused on nursing distressed companies back to health, preparing target companies for sale, buy side investment suitability, due diligence, and implementing/improving financial systems and processes. Bill also enjoys mentoring and developing younger financial professionals into financial executives. Bill has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Colorado in Boulder, majoring in Accounting and Finance. He is a CPA, and spent10 years with two international accounting firms specializing in taxation andM&A support.
